Dr. Hugh Washington

Dr. Hugh Washington has been caring for animals since he was seven years old and working in veterinary clinics since he was 14 years old. He is a 1985 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University. He worked in several multi-doctor practices early in his professional career in Georgia and Alabama. His desire for close relationships with clients and a desire to avoid unnecessary medical services for pets led him to open his own practice, The Met Vet, in 1991. Over the last 18 years he has worked to guide pet owners through the many choices pet owners face while fulfilling his pledge to never perform services that are not needed. During this time he authored two books on pet care, Your New Puppy and Your New Kitten. During his appointments he gives you the best medical options for your pet and helps you make the choice.
